My ever-expanding waistline is a testament to the quality of cakes in this cracking wee bakery. Cinnamon buns the size of small plates, mahoosive scones, big choc chip cookies, chunky brownies, huge pain au chocolat, fancy chocolate cakes... I devour them all on a regular basis. They also do great savoury snacks - the black pudding and pork sausage rolls are especially good. And their coffee is superb.
It's quite a tiny place, but there are a few seats if you'd like to sit in. If you do, have a scone with jam and clotted cream - pure magic. I can't rate this place highly enough and if you think I'm exaggerating, check the comments on their Facebook page.
The only problem is Cottonrake is a 2-minute walk from my house, so I'm going to need a whole new wardrobe by the end of the year...
