I really dig this little venue. Just on Glasgow's West Regent street, I stumbled across KCal Cafe while on my way to an evening course. I still had a bit of a walk to do but my curiosity got the better of me.
I was captivated by the natural aesthetic they aimed to channel through the decor - furnished with simplistic yet stylish light-coloured wooden tables and chairs, with the almost mint green colour of cushions and little houseplants, adding some vibrancy to the venue.
They are a nutrition-focused smoothie bar and kitchen, and seek to encourage their customers, that healthy eating doesn't need to be a chore, or a boring endeavour. They have a variety of unique and interesting meals that include carb quantities, kilocalorie information, and grams of fat and protein. While it is admittedly a bit on the pricier side because all of their ingredients are health-oriented and fresh, it is a nice little indulgence that doesn't leave you with a sense of sugary guilt and a need to hit the gym soon afterwards!
