Less than a minutes walk away from the Hillhead Subway Station on Byres Roads, framed by a bright white storefront, the charming Pastèis Lisboa is serving up tasty treats and great coffees.
I am a regular visitor in the bakery because the staff are always so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Not only this, but you can see and smell the bakery's signature dish, the Pastel de nata, being made from the window, so it's hard not to be enticed by the aromas of sweet, lemony custard and caramelisation from the street.
They display creativity and excellence in baking with their various renditions of the classic tart, with 'rhubarb and custard', 'plum and cardamom' and Vegan versions to try. This being said, I would encourage everyone to try the classic first, I think it needs nothing more added. But they are all delicious!
They also have many European cupboard stockers on offer following the theme and bake their bread fresh daily.
