Underneath Glasgow Central railways station lie The Arches, a former iconic nightspot, now transformed into a stunning, colorful and spacious space offering various pop-up events on weekends.
From Friday to Sunday, the Platform brings on a street food truck style market, gathering a great variety of independent traders. The food selection is very inviting with a wide choice of tasty local and international snacks (try the scallops and black pudding!), including vegan, gluten-free and halal products. They also offer is a good range of freshly roasted coffees and serve a choice of beers, including Innis & Gunn drafts and two brewed in-house until Midnight.
The beautiful space is child-friendly during daytime (staff know how to keep kids busy if necessary, so adults can enjoy and mingle stress-free) and food is available to sit-in on large sharing tables (takeaway is also available).
In addition, the venue regularly organizes vintage clothes & creators' markets, so you'll have a good chance to find something original. Check the Facebook page for updates!
To me, The Arches is a must-go spot on a wet weekend day. The set-up, together with the laid-back atmosphere and cool music make it a special place to relax and socialize. Highly recommended!
