I like the parks and gardens in my hometown, but the zen-like atmosphere in the Japanese garden area of the public park called "Planten un Blomen" (translates into "plants and flowers") is something special. During the summer months and especially on weekends, I sometimes take part in a tea ceremony that is offered there (check out the website).
But in general, I just stroll around and sit by the tea house to watch the fish and enjoy the tranquility. The area is always neat and clean as I would expect from a Japanese garden. But the best thing: I can enjoy it without taking an airplane!
