As a real 'Hamburger Deern' ('Hamburg girl' in Low German), I love to eat seafood and fish of any kind. But as a student, it often gets a little too expensive. Not anymore, since I discovered this wonderful Portuguese restaurant! For over thirty years now they have been serving delicious Iberian food in the middle of the urban, alternative quarter Sternschanze.
You can go there anytime, but I highly recommend their lunch specials, which you can eat until 16:00. During this time, they have a variety of great fish and seafood dishes and the prices are more than fair. Every lunch meal comes with a soup or a salad and bread with probably the best aioli in the city. You should try the Dorade (gilthead), the grilled sepia or the Tilapiafilet in Krabbensoße (tilapia with crab sauce). I also really like their white house whine and the waiters are always up for a chat and a laugh.
It can get pretty crowded around lunch time, though, especially when it's sunny – you might have to wait a little while, but the food is worth it.
