I love old gems in architecture and I am always impressed by how engineers would come up with great solutions for a problem. In this case, I am in awe of the "Schiefe Ebene" which still exist today after over 150 years.
It was part of the solution for how to transport the fish from the Altona Harbour to the uptown areas. If you google the pictures you can see that not much has changed. I like to touch the old walls and walk on this bridge. And there are great new architectural gems nearby so it is worth a visit if you are around "Altonaer Balkon" (check out my article about it).
