I am totally into history and take a blast out of the fact that you can still visit the old bone at the Hamburg Museum (an awesome place itself!) which gave the street called “Schulterblatt” (German for shoulder blade) its name from the early 1800s on.

Probably you’ve already walked around the Schanze with all its cafés and shops. And maybe you’ve taken the famous street called “Schulterblatt”. The street name is related to this piece of bone that you can see in the picture above. It is a whale bone which was used as an advertising plate for a tavern. And now you can still see the last bits of the old colour of the advertisement on the bone. Wow!
