Cafe Papu is a nice addition to Helsinki's cafe scene in the Kruununhaka neighborhood. There aren't too many restaurants or cafes in Kruununhaka which is why it is especially nice that Cafe Papu opened there. I love the feeling in Cafe Papu. The staff greets and treats you warmly and the decor is cool with a French touch. I love their selection of sweet cakes, fresh coffee and they even serve Matcha Latte which seems to be the favorite drink for many nowadays.
There is one thing that's made Cafe Papu one of my favorite places in Helsinki. Cafe Papu is one of the very few places that offers Vietnamese Bánh mì sandwiches, which are delicious. You can get a half sandwich or a full one. First I thought the combination of a French touch in the decor and Vietnamese sandwiches sounded strange but did you know the combination is actually quite obvious? It was actually the French people who introduced bread for the Vietnamese back in the day. I have a few vegan friends and those sandwiches are also available as vegan.
