I truly love good craft beers and Stadin Panimo in the rugged Suvilahti area is one of the best places in Helsinki to enjoy that locally! It’s one of the countless microbreweries in the country ‒ and a pride of our city ‒ which always just keeps on coming up with fascinating novelties one after another. Their canned beers, which I often buy from any grocery store here, are some of the best in their price category. But a visit to their bar is always a special occasion.
From a tap, they serve a selection of eight beers ‒ most of them, if not all, crafted here in their brewery. They update the list constantly, so you won’t get bored. The good thing is that they serve beers in small portions as well, which is perfect for tasting. Besides that, they offer hundreds of selected bottles from small breweries all over the world, which must be the widest selection I have seen! You can buy their own beers in bottles as a take-away, too.
The urban culture hub of Suvilahti with its massive graffiti walls is nowadays getting a bit more lively and active outside events. However, I don’t remember if I have ever really faced a hard time finding a table for me and some friends at Stadin Panimo. Instead, you will find a cozy and tranquil bar with a classic touch and inspiring atmosphere, never a hassle. Just what I need after wandering around in the most street-fashioned urban milieu of Helsinki!
