El Fant Coffee & Wine has been around for a while. It is located in a spot that has been a little bit challenging for the locals in Torikorttelit, or Tori Quarters so to say. The location is actually great, just between the very city center and the Market Square. El Fant Coffee & Wine has been the most important reason for me to spend some more time around Torikorttelit and it is great to see there are more and more new shops, restaurants and cafés opened and opening up.
Torikorttelit; if you called it the new old town of Helsinki, it would describe the area pretty well. For me coffee, food and service have been the main reasons to visit El Fant Coffee & Wine. The house coffee is local Good Life Coffee from the Kallio neighborhood. Their menu features many vegetarian options, which I've become quite fond of recently. The ingredients are mainly organic and local produce.
The staff at El Fant Coffee & Wine are amazing. They really know their products and the young superstars in the kitchen and bar innovate local food culture with their style.
