Moda Pier Café, with its Ottoman-style architecture and stone walkway, offers one of the best panoramas of Istanbul. The historical two-storey structure still operates as a pier and welcomes ferries throughout the day while people enjoy the view and the goods of the café. Since the city council took over the premises as a whole, a library on the first floor has also been established with a broad collection of books. Even though it is not privately owned, the coffee and the pastries they offer are delicious by any measure and could compete with any high-end café in the area.
The position of the building gives visitors a city silhouette on one side and the view of the tranquil Marina of Fenerbahce on the other, while ferries pass by on the horizon regularly. But maybe the most entertaining thing about the place is the quintessentially local scenes of daily life happening around. As it is the favorite spot for people and dogs alike to swim in almost all year-round, you could observe a keen swimmer doing their daily laps around the pier, or groups of dogs swimming together while their parents have fun watching.
