The strong sense of community is what makes Podgórze different from the neighbouring districts. At first, there was Miejscówka, a pub by the river, serving a wide range of craft beers and some of the best sandwiches in town. Then, 2020 came and Miejscówka was no more, but luckily, that’s not the end of the story. Iza and Grzesiek, the people behind it all, opened Spoko Pub. The Podgórze spirit is still there!
A pub as local as Spoko is hard to find. Of course, there’s a large crowd of regulars, and many of the products come from other businesses in the area. Bagels, the specialty of the house, are baked in an artisanal bakery just across the street. The coffee beans are sourced from BeMyBean, a local speciality coffee roastery, which is also my personal favorite. This is the place to get a proper taste of Kraków.
On the menu you’ll find a range of different bagels sandwiches: vegan, vegetarian, classic lox, meat options and something seasonal, too. Oh, and do I need to mention the vast selection of Polish craft beers? Smacznego and na zdrowie!
