One of our local breweries is located in the building (and area) of an old depot in the Jewish district - Kazimierz. What might interest you, a few years ago this area was a go-kart track. Since this building was falling to ruin, it needed a general overhaul. Fortunately, it's been renovated and it's now playing the role of restaurant & mini-brewery.
Stara Zajezdnia is a perfect place for a beer while sightseeing around Kazimierz. Even though it may sometimes be crowded, it's also very roomy, so you shouldn't have any problems finding a seat.
The whole complex is very spacious - after passing the gate to Stara Zajezdnia, you'll find yourself in a courtyard, where you can lie down on a sunbed during warm days. There is also a summer garden there - opened for high season, where different events take place (a beer festival for instance). Apart from that, Stara Zajezdnia probably has the biggest beer hall and, as is said - the longest bar in Krakow.
This is my type of place for meetings with friends - since we never know where to go and never make a reservation, we need a place with enough tables to accommodate us. The other reason to come here may be to watch sport competitions. There are 10 big TVs inside and all the bigger sport events are broadcast here.
