Matured meat is in fashion currently (I already shared one of my fav dining spots) and that is just fine with me!
Butchers is a well-lit and nicely decorated restaurant in the expo area. Their main focus is (surprise): meat and especially matured meat. They serve different types of cuts from different countries, such as Argentina, Uruguay and Scotland. For the moment they do not serve local cuts, but they are working on it. Portugal is not yet known for its beef culture, although it actually has quite a variety of llocal cattle breeds. Some of the cuts are ideal for sharing. Instead of of a small (Portuguese) steak ("bife") they serve much thicker cuts, cooked perfectly.
This is a great place for lunch if you are visiting one of the many attractions of the expo area (e.g. the aquarium, Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre, Portuguese Pavilion). They have long tables, so the place is suited for larger groups as well.
