Diego is an easy-going Brazilian guy who started inline skating as a child. In 2019, he moved to Lisbon, where he searched for inline skating groups, similar to the ones he was part of back home. He was looking for a community to make friends and meet them on wheels on a regular basis. As none of that existed, he founded Lisb’On Rollers. Entirely for free, this group is a meeting point in Lisbon for all lovers of skating, whether you have no experience at all, or you are already a pro.
So when I looked for inline skates teachers in Lisbon, guess who showed up in the first many results! As I reached out, he was up for teaching me in private lessons, but he also suggested that I joined Lisb'On Rollers meetings on Wednesdays (at Doca do Espanhol) or on Sundays (at Campo das Cebolas).
Being an introvert, I was kind of frightened of taking his suggestion, but guess what? It was one of the most amazing things I've ever done!
He built a very nice, fun, helping community, that has an essence and personality of its own and every time I cannot meet them, it's a loss I feel deep inside. Because of Lisb'On rollers, I now do inline and quad rollers, so much it is enjoyable to practice this sport and to be around those guys,
Go check them out to understand a bit of the spirit of this group and stop by any of the events!
