Zaafran Lisbon – Fusion exotic food

""Zaafran" is unlike all other Indian restaurants in Lisbon. Here, the dishes and aromas have African as well as Indian influences. I just love fusion food!"

Zaafran is located in central Lisbon at Estefânia Square, two blocks away from Saldanha Square and the Metro Station. The place is busy at lunchtime, packed with businessmen and workers from nearby companies, but quiet and romantic at night. There are lots of Indian restaurants in Lisbon, but fortunately, Zaafran is something else.

The cuisine is not what we usually find in traditional Indian restaurants. Here, there are some signature dishes with a Mozambique influence. The flavour and aromas of India and Africa combined... mnham... And I just love fusion food! Zaafran is the perfect spot for a romantic date. The ambience is quiet, the decoration is sober, trendy and modern. And, you'll be talking about their food for weeks - Try the crab curry, the traditional lamb dishes and of course, the "chamuças". Spicy and tasty!

Give it a try if you've never tasted genuine fusion food from Mozambique.

Feel Rio – Eat like a Carioca

"Feel Rio" in Lisbon serves what I miss the most about Brazil: the empanadas. Another thing I love is their sugar cane juice. I was made a man drinking it.

"Restaurante Tico-Tico" is an old Alvalade favourite for as long as I can remember. This restaurant probably serves the best meat croquettes in Lisbon.
