Zaafran is located in central Lisbon at Estefânia Square, two blocks away from Saldanha Square and the Metro Station. The place is busy at lunchtime, packed with businessmen and workers from nearby companies, but quiet and romantic at night. There are lots of Indian restaurants in Lisbon, but fortunately, Zaafran is something else.
The cuisine is not what we usually find in traditional Indian restaurants. Here, there are some signature dishes with a Mozambique influence. The flavour and aromas of India and Africa combined... mnham... And I just love fusion food! Zaafran is the perfect spot for a romantic date. The ambience is quiet, the decoration is sober, trendy and modern. And, you'll be talking about their food for weeks - Try the crab curry, the traditional lamb dishes and of course, the "chamuças". Spicy and tasty!
Give it a try if you've never tasted genuine fusion food from Mozambique.
