Initially, as a method to preserve fish with fermented rice, sushi has now evolved into a fine dining & luxury item on a menu. However, Sushi Show makes sushi as it is intended to be. Simple, delicious, and does not break the bank.
This family-run place gives off a very warm and welcoming energy. Sushi Show’s open kitchen and sushi bar make you feel like you’re invited into a Japanese kitchen as soon as you step in.
Their sushi is made fresh and in front of you, and you can ask for specific rolls as you browse through their open counter. They will even recommend specific cuts of fish to be seared for an ultimate umami flavor bomb.
The menu also includes other items such as miso soup, beef bulgogi bowls, salmon sashimi, teriyaki chicken... the list goes on.
They also have a few Japanese brands and grocery items on a shelf besides the entrance, and it doubles as a convenience store (a very small one).
Expect to order for take-away as they have very limited seating and it’s based on a first-come, first-served policy. There are a few seats inside, but it can feel quite cramped. Grab a table outdoors if possible.
I’m always on the lookout for a delicious sushi spot that doesn’t break the bank, and Sushi Show is definitely at the top of the list in London.
And remember… life is too short to die on an empty stomach — so make it count!
