Come check out our Space Shuttle!
After the decommissioning of the Space Shuttle Program, NASA needed places for the fleet to serve as pieces for museums. Well, we have one of them in Los Angeles at the California Science Center.
Remodeled in 1998 from the California Museum of Science and Industry, California Science Center is home to various aircraft, an aquarium, and an IMAX theatre. I saw a documentary about forests at the IMAX theatre.
California Science Center is located in Exposition Park next to the University of Southern California (USC). In the surrounding park area, you will find the old Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, where it hosted the 1932 and 1984 Olympics. I was here for the 1984 Olympics! The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is next door.
California Science Center is a great way for children to explore science. Not a lot of locals know that the science center is free. It is a great way to enjoy scientific discoveries, view different ecosystems around the world.
My friend is a scuba diver for the Center, he gives a lecture about marine biology to school kids. I was recently there with an elementary school classroom giving information about ecosystems and the human body that was in the exhibits.
