Located in a quaint corner of LA’s historic core, you can find Verve, an urban hipster café with a laid back vibe that represents the continued revitalization of downtown Los Angeles.
Verve sits in a truly unique neighborhood. It’s known as the fashion district, not so much for the stores but because clothing is still manufactured and designed here. It is undergoing tremendous revitalization. Grand old buildings, once long abandoned, are being restored into the architectural masterpieces that they truly are. New luxury high rise apartments are rising on what were once surface parking lots. And the streets which were once desolate and filled with empty storefronts now bustle with throngs of people and new shops.
Verve sits in the middle of this energy. It has a warm and welcoming vibe with both a high ceilinged interior complete with communal tables where one can meet new people or outside on the street facing covered patio. At Verve, one can sit with friends, connect with new people, or just reflect and watch the world go by.
I happen to appreciate Verve for its hot chocolate. In sunny LA, there are few cold and dark days where you would truly desire a hot chocolate. But we do have them.
Verve’s hot chocolate is made fresh-to-order by barristas with a mix of actual organic chocolate, then topped with actual house-made whipped cream, and finished with shaved cinnamon. It is the perfect indulgence on a cold day.
I highly recommend a visit.
