This gem of a restaurant truly lives up to its name, as well as its promise that customers ‘never leave hungry.’ Carnivore is an international steakhouse that draws on the influences of several barbecue cultures, including North and South America, Australia and Africa. The atmosphere is cozy and, dare I say, even a bit romantic, and the service strikes the perfect balance of efficiency and attentiveness.
The dining experience at Carnivore is a bit different from a lot of the other restaurants in Malmö. Once the wait staff has taken your order, you can dive into the small but immaculately appointed salad bar at your leisure. Baskets of their amazing garlic bread (because some carbs are always worth it!) arrive at the table “family style” to be enjoyed with the fresh salad. Similarly, the fries that come with every meal (unless you choose a substitute) are also served this way and timed to land in front of you just prior to the meat from the grill.
Not surprisingly, the star of the menu is most definitely steak, and there are several classic cuts to choose between, or even in combination if you can’t decide on just one. Whatever you decide, it will be expertly cooked. Non-beef eaters have a choice of lamb, chicken or salmon. If the menu is lacking at all, it’s in the area of dessert, with typically just two or three on offer any given night. But honestly, you probably won't have "room" for it anyway!
"Limhamns Småbåtshamn", literally 'small boats harbour', is ironically the largest of Malmö's marinas and home to a very active sailing club!
