Located in between Triangeln train station and Möllevågnstorget, Martins Conditori & Café is a time machine back to the 1980s, which makes it a perfect spot for having a nostalgic fika moment. It’s a traditional bakery, which has stayed loyal to its origins. The indoor decoration of the place with pink carpeting and flower curtains has probably remained untouched since the early ’80s when the place opened.
Martins Conditori & Café is a contrast to all the emerging hipster places in the area serving acai bowls, matcha lattes and avocado toasts. This café’s display window is always full of various old-school goodies, the type of things your grandmother would make: huge cream pastries, layer cakes and open sandwiches. My typical choice here is a chocolate-covered croissant filled with vanilla custard. Another strong recommendation goes to semla, a traditional Swedish pastry that is a bun filled with whipped cream and almond paste.
