If you are into modern art, Malmö offers a lot to see. Besides Konsthall and several smaller, independent galleries, Moderna Museet is another must-visit place. The little sister of the bigger Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the museum building is located in a smaller street in the city centre, near Rörsjökanalen.
The entrance to the museum is free, which makes Moderna Museet a perfect place for a quick, extempore visit. However, you can easily spend a whole afternoon observing the exhibitions on two floors. Also, the museum’s yellow bathrooms must be one of the most popular places for taking mirror selfies in Malmö.
I tend to combine my visit to Moderna Museet with a lunch at Vegegården (check my other article), located just a few steps away. Alternatively, a post-observing-art fika at the small, cosy café in the first floor of the museum building is also a good option.
Check out Moderna Museet’s website for updated program and exhibitions.
