If you’ve lived in Sweden for a while now, you’ll notice that plants are a standard in the Scandinavian interior aesthetic. Luscious green plants, with beautiful pots, are scattered around most Scandinavian homes. A monstera or Chinese money plant may be commonplace, but sometimes you’re in search of that X factor. The plant that brings a little oomph and character to that dull corner of your home.

This is where Oasen comes in. Put simply, Oasen is a biophilic paradise. On the surface, the unassuming plant shop on the corner of Ostergarten is dimly lit, with a diligent Thai owner behind the counter, and a main floor that is home to herbs, spices, flowers and basic gardening material at the end of the corridor. The real magic however, is hidden one floor down.

Once you walk down, you’ll come across an endless expanse of robust flora and fauna. What smells like a tropical rainforest is home to over 200 species of plants, categorized by their country of origin, and each section is maintained carefully in its appropriate temperature and humidity controlled environment.

From lemon and olive plants to snake plants, cacti, ferns, bamboo, bonsai, water lilies and other exotic plants, you’ll surely find what you’re looking for. Africa, Mexico, China, are some of the main categories, but keep looking, and you’ll find more climates tucked away in the corner.

So, if you’re a Malmo local, Oasen is a must-visit to bring a little life to your home.
