"When in Rome, do as the Romans." - Visiting Malmö, that means "eat falafel"!
In Sweden as well as in the rest of the world there seems to be an ever-growing culture of new, cool, inventive fast food, and Malmö is no exception. New restaurants pop up everywhere and their creativity seems limitless. - Sometimes they last and sometimes they don't, but one thing never goes out of style. - Falafel!
The falafel roll is probably the most bought fast food in Malmö. Although Sweden is generally known to be quite expensive when it comes to eating out, here in Malmö this insanely popular chickpea delicacy is both cheap AND tasty! - Malmö is famous for having the best falafel in Sweden, and the prize is around half of what you pay in other Swedish cities.
Prizes differ a bit depending on where you are, but generally, a regular Malmö falafel roll shouldn't cost more than 35-40 SEK. Malmö's falafel hot spot is centered around Möllan, where I always buy my rolls; here there's always a falafel joint in sight. And it's the best! My personal favourite is an extra-large falafel roll with halloumi and mixed sauces and I usually pay about 45 SEK. Everyone I know eats falafel and all visitors want it, so when visiting Malmö you know what to do! pick any place around Möllan and try Malmö falafel, you won't be disappointed. Why not try one of my favourite spots? "Möllans falafel", "Jalla Jalla" or "Shawarma Specialisten" - Smaklig spis!
