Hidden away inbetween Levenshulme and Reddish is an official nature reserve which once you've entered, you'll feel like you've been transported out of the city entirely.Â
Perfect for dog walking, cycling or taking a picnic, Highfield Country Park offers a huge space to wander and explore, meaning you'll always find the perfect spot for what you're after.Â
There are also events on offer at the park: from toddler groups to gardening projects, these can be found on the Facebook page and official website.Â
Highfield Country Park has been a mainstay of my life, referred to as 'The Farm' by my family due to one of the land's many past lives. I've been going to Highfield for as long as I remember to walk dogs, go for a little walk after school or to take a picnic and enjoy the sun.Â
Highfield is wonderful, big enough that even now, I will find spots I'd never seen before while walking around. I have my favourite spots though, the picnic areas are lovely and the archway pictured is beautiful in the sun, though my absolute favourite is the hidden-away pond where you can sit and really enjoy the serenity around you.
