This is one of my favorite places in Narvarte and if you or someone you know is vegan, you will love Vegan Carnicería too. As its name states, Vegan Carnicería was created as a vegan alternative for your common butchery.  It is a small shop located in the heart of la Narvarte and another one has recently opened in la Roma. The latter is bigger and offers more food options – I would advise you to go if you are in La Roma and are craving delicious creamy ice cream or pizza. As the Vegan Carnicería shop in Narvarte is smaller, they mostly serve tacos, one of the best vegan burgers I have tried and plant-based birria on weekends that could fool any meat-eating local. Nonetheless, what makes Vegan Carnicería special and different from all the other vegan restaurants is that you can buy some of their produce in bulk. So, if you are planning on cooking during your stay in Mexico City I would strongly recommend you try Vegan Carnicería’s tofu, chorizo de trigo y almendra (this one is the perfect compliment for your eggs in the morning to achieve an English Breakfast or with some scrambled tofu), and milanesa de avena. Don’t forget to bring your own bags or containers so they can fill them up without producing waste!

Their address in La Roma is Poniente and Manzanillo 22B Roma Norte.
