In the vault of the ancient Bank of Mexico there’s a hidden jazz club, Zinco Jazz Club, one of the most proactive venues of the national and international jazz scene. From Wednesday to Saturday there’s an interesting schedule of bands with different proposals for live music.
Zinco has the vibe of the ancient New York clubs from the era of Miles Davis. From outside it looks like a small door that you have to knock to get into; go downstairs and then go through a red velvet curtain and there it is. Zinco is a intimate space with no more than ten tables and a small dark stage. It’s a great place for those who want to know what’s going on with contemporary jazz.
But it’s not all about music; Zinco has a nice menu of food and drinks. The starters are the best and there’s a long list of cocktails.
The cover charge (just like the band) changes every night.
