Do you like rock music? I love it very much.
Within CIS countries, rock music means a real protest against the Soviet regime and the rules of nomenclature. Rock music is a challenge to society, and in Soviet times it was banned. Musicians arranged underground apartments where they gave concerts, and Soviet youth came to them under the risk of punishment. Rock music is synonymous with the word "freedom".
Needless to say, rock musicians became real heroes of their time and were persecuted by the authorities.
One of the most famous musicians of the Soviet Union, Viktor Tsoi tragically died in 1990. Fans across all the big cities of the Soviet Union established walls of memory for this musician. There is such a wall of Tsoi in Minsk. You can see it in the picturesque Lyakhovsky Square in the center of the city and get inspired by the spirit of the time!
