I was born with an ability to watch any kind of movie. It helps me to survive in Russia, as there are very few Russian films of high quality which were created after the fall of the Soviet Union. So, I can enjoy both Mikhalkov's high-budget historic blockbuster and an arthouse drama filmed with a mobile phone.
So, when I heard about doc movies fest, I didn't think too long about visiting it. Mir iskusstva is located in a cozy yard hidden in the center of the city. It is not easy to find the entrance, so it is better to download a map from the official site. The facilities don't resemble a cinema at all. The screen may surprise – you've probably seen a bigger and better one at somebody's home. The films are not fresh or up-scale: you can watch it on youtube for free instead of going there and paying some money. Does it make any sense?
The point is that you are unlikely to watch any of these movies at home. You won't search for them, you won't hear about them, you will have no desire of watching them on the screen of your computer. Just come here and get acquainted with the most unfamous Russian cinema!
