Anyone who was a child of the '80s, like me, can remember going to the skating rink on a Friday or Saturday night and skating to songs like I Love Rock-n-Roll. Why not relive some of those memories, or just create new ones at the Blue Cross Riverrink. This is normally an ice skating rink in the winter, but this summer they have converted it into a really cool roller skating rink. If you have Blue Cross insurance the admission is free but if not, then it is $13.
This park is actually a great place just to hang out even if you don't like to skate. It sits right on the river with a great view of the Ben Franklin Bridge. There is a lodge that has fireplaces in the winter to stay nice and warm when you are taking a break from ice skating. The lodge has a bar and sells snacks as well.
Even if you are not a skater, it is nice to just relax in a rocking chair overlooking the rink, river, and bridge with a beer and your friends.
