Columbus Square Park (Columbus Park) has recently undergone renovations to add more green space with a community lawn and patio as well as a rose garden, a nature walk, a larger dog park, and a playground, Â while maintaining fields for child and adult sports. Parks like this build community, and Philadelphia takes pride in its many parks and green spaces.
Lots of families live in the neighborhood and this is a great spot for outdoor activities or just lounging on the grass. Community events are held here as well as after-school and computer programs. Located between 12th and 13th streets and Wharton and Reed, the park is a short stroll from Passyunk Square where you can find coffee at Rival Bros and pick up some Redcrest Fried Chicken with sides. If visiting town, this is a great spot to go with kids and/or the dog to relax and play or watch a baseball or soccer game.
