I’m a tangible shopper, not an online orderer, and I like shopping local so, while I am often enticed by Grove Collective ads for my eco products, I prefer spending money at places like Good Buy Supply “Philadelphia’s first retail shop dedicated to low-waste and plastic-free alternatives for everyday life.” The store is very zen with clean white walls, bare wood floors and orderly artsy arrangements of eco-friendly bath, kitchen, home, garden and beauty supplies. I love going in to browse as it also smells like fresh soap. They have everything from Bees-wax food wraps to natural linen coffee filters to wool dryer balls to candles and rosewater facial toners. Eco-products can seem pricey but most products actually save money long-run as they are reusable and waste-free. I like to buy birthday gifts here, and friends have especially appreciated their Lavender Salt Scrub made of all-natural ingredients, including apricot kernel.
The owners Emily and Jason are always happy to offer suggestions and product education.
I’ve found that once I’ve started using more environmentally friendly products like those available at Good Buy Supply, like plastic-free shampoo bars and dryer balls, I only wish I’d started sooner.
