It seems like Green Eggs Café popped up overnight offering patrons over the top concoctions that you can feel good about since the restaurant prides itself as supporting locally grown and eco friendly affordable dishes. I remember when the first location opened several years ago in an up and coming area in South Philadelphia. Since then, the crowds for brunch have warranted the addition of two more locations in Philadelphia each one gaining more popularity than the last.
Brunch is by far their most popular time to visit, but if you want to avoid hours of waiting then I would suggest going anytime other than Saturday or Sunday mornings. Some of their most popular dishes are their red velvet pancakes and the kitchen sink. Both dishes are huge and you will not leave hungry. As you can probably guess, the kitchen sink has everything you can imagine in the dish. I always have the hardest time choosing what to order since the specials change frequently and are usually just as over the top as their regular menu. Two of the locations are BYOB, so bring your champagne and make your own mimosas at the table. Also, they are all cash only so make sure you hit the ATM before heading over.
