I know, yet another cheesesteak place. Get excited though: your taste buds will thank you. This one is a little different and really tasty because it involves long hots, tomatoes, provolone, and of course onions. Another little spot with no seating near the end of Passyunk (Pash-yunk if you want to talk like a local) avenue. The area is sort of in this odd mix of neighborhood meets strip. This place somewhat bridges the two. It's a long walk down or a short Uber/Lyft ride but worth it.
Welcome to Philip's! Ordering this cheesesteak is a little different than the rest because you only need to say you want an Old-Fashion or "Old Fashioned please". The sliced tomatoes on top and the long hots or less hot peppers (the only choice you have to make) are what make this sandwich Faboo.Â
What to do once you have gotten your Old-Fashion? Well there is a slight covering you can eat under or on the street because it may or may not be packed! I say eat right there and maybe make some friends while you're chowing down! Enjoy and remember you order your drinks at the other window :).
