In ways, visiting South Philly is like going to Italy, southern Italy that is. You cannot walk down the street without passing something Italian. One place you should pass is Termini Brothers. They are just south of the Italian Market area and offer Italian pastries from Sicily. After three generations, they are still creating sweets in the same location as when they started.
Since they opened in 1921, they have opened a few other locations but to me, nothing beats going to the original location deep in the heart of South Philly. When you walk in, you get a shopper who will follow you around putting all of your goodies on a silver tray. They also usually have a few samples you can try.
What Termini Brothers is really known for though is their cannoli's, which are a Sicilian favorite and has become a Philly favorite too. They are not filled until you order them, so they are always fresh and not soggy.
