Explore the divine trinity of wine, beer, and cheese at this connoisseur's playground! Tria is a sophisticated yet cozy stop for those who love to swirl, sniff, and sip. Well-trained staff and a clever menu make their offerings accessible to anyone.
Aside from a very wide selection of wines by the glass, small batch beers, and exotic cheeses, the menu offers small savory snacks, panini, and sandwiches. It's light fare but enough to steady you for the drinking experience. I like the seasoned nuts and anything with truffle oil.
The sparkling wines and wide selection of French wines are my favorite. The service is warm, smart and attentive. Tria's education mission reaches beyond its staff. It opens its training sessions to a lucky (paying) few and offers excellent classes on wine and cheese. They also host visiting brewers and winemakers for meet-and-greet happy hours and drink specials. Check their website for details!
The original Tria Cafe location is near Rittenhouse Square, but Tria now has a cafe in Washington West.
Perhaps my favorite is Sunday School. Each week, Tria selects a cheese, beer, and wine to discount for your first round! They're encouraging you to discover something new, but for me they are just preaching to the choir.
