Kino Aero is one of the oldest cinemas in Prague and all of the Czech Republic. In spite of having the "oldest cinema" mark it really doesn't feel old and is a great place to hang out.
I always go there little earlier to have a beer in the bar next to the projection room, which distinctly shortens the waiting. What I find is a really excellent idea is the so called "Aero naslepo" – each last Tuesday of the month from 20:30 there is a screening of a movie. They don't announce the name beforehand and if you have already seen it, you can go to the bar and have a beer for free. If not and you stay, you can decide if you pay any admission fee after watching the movie. It's a great opportunity to discover new movies.
Other great ideas which I like are for example the festival of artistic short films or the Prague movie summer festival.
