If you call your flat an "urban jungle", talk about yourself as a "plant mom" and find yourself scrolling Facebook plant swap groups for monsteras and banana leaf plants at two in the morning, raise your hand and follow my lead to Zahrada na niti.
The lovely owner of the small shop at Školská street is a garden architect with a great sense of design, knowledge of trends and great amount of experience in the field. Her ability to combine local design with the organic greenery is truly extraordinary, which is the reason I admire her so much and the shop is my "go-to" when needing anything plant-related.
When first coming in, you are going to find yourself in an airy space filled with a hand-picked selection of plants placed either on the floor and hanging from the ceiling in the airariums (the small glass terrariums, ideal for succulent or air plants). A variety of beautiful plant-related things such as pots and metal watering cans can be found there. Check the shops's Instagram @zahradananiti to see for yourself. Before you leave, be sure to pick a poster or a card for your fellow plant lovers back home.
Oh, and one more secret. Be sure to check the Instagram account to see when the next plant swap is being held. You can come and get some pretty awesome plant species and have a chat with locals plant fanatics. I have definitely picked some of my plants on one of those.
