Italian food is pretty popular in Prishtina and there is a myriad of spots to try, but my go-to - when it comes to pizza - is Jana Napoletana.
It lies in a small space hidden behind Libraria Dukagjini, and while it is quite unassuming from the outside, the interior makes your acquaintance with some very cute misaligned tables and chairs, some decor that brings me back to the early 2000s homes when colour and sentimentality were much more prominent than aesthetics, and a small, but super-friendly staff.
Fortunately, along with the decor, the wonderful scent of food is also ever-present and comes from the star of the room - the brick oven. Now, the only food coming out of that oven is pizza and pizzette, so if you're looking for some other italian dish, this is not the place to go to, however if you are looking for pizza, look no further.
My personal favorite is Shef, which has tomato sauce, ham, Sharr cheese (from the mountains of Southern Kosovo), mozzarella, and spinach, and I rarely change it, but that's mostly because when I go with my friends, they choose other options, so we all just share a slice from each. This way I get the best of all (or at least two) worlds.
If you're also in the mood for a pi(ece)zza of Napoli with some Kosovar twists, this is definitely the place for you.
