It is strange that a country with so many beer lovers didn't have a beer museum. Luckily some years ago the Aldaris beer museum and workshop opened near brewery Aldaris. It is situated in an old part of the brewery -- some of the rooms hadn't been used since 1938. Now it is renovated and there is the possibility to see copper beer kettles from those times. That makes this museum special; it is not something just put down there, it has been there for a long time and made beer for many previous generations.
Aldaris offers not just exhibitions. There is also a bar, where you can sit down and look at their beer collection or a virtual presentation of their most famous variety of beers. You can also book a beer-making master class and also make your own unique beer. But you will have to wait a month till it is ready if you want to drink it ;).
The charm of old industrial buildings can be found not only inside, but especially outside in the yard.
Important: the beer museum is in the yard, near the industrial part of the brewery. Look for the signs.
Public transport: Tram No 5. Stop "Aldaris". But there's also a better option; closer to the brewery is minibus No 267. Stop "Aldaris".
