This is another historical spot in Riga that has experienced a new breath of life. This splendid historical brewer’s mansion, built in 1883, was reborn into a unique, hipster, culturally soaked event residence in 2015. It was not renovated as a glamorous building: it has only basic utilities and a few pieces of furniture inside, a bar zone, some sofas to relax in and bookshelves with books to be read on-site and minimal commodities outside. The villa building is battered, yard – with the green zone, outdoor terrace, and a small stage for the summer season concerts and performances. In K. K. fon Stricka villa, everything has an easy-going style, so the old walls of the villa, the ornaments and textures are still visible, as well as elements of good, luxurious times in the past.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions and limited indoor space it is recommend to check the Facebook page (Events chapter) of K. K. fon Stricka villa before the visit to find out about the indoor events and tickets availability to enjoy a variety of cultural and music events in the safe conditions.
K.K. fon Stricka Villa is definitely a hipster and artistic place but without the arrogance or snobbery. Everybody is welcome to enjoy the democratic and unpretentious atmosphere there.
