Mañana is Spanish for “tomorrow” and “later” – it means "slow down, take it easy, what's the hurry?" This would be the approach to life Latvians should consider and remember from time to time. And a very good place to relax and slow down in the everyday whirl – that's Mañana bar. Located at a walking distance from the centre of Riga, it recently appeared in my walking route but has already charmed me and has become a place to return to again and again.
Mañana bar is equipped with a cosy sofa for a bigger bunch of friends and tables at the window to enjoy the street view as well as the stylish Spanish type of decorations and tender lights – it is a perfect place to slow down and from time to time just start relax in the afternoon. Maybe even earlier in a typical working day, because happy hour cocktails are served already by 4 PM. The menu is a bit compact but includes tacos, snacks, salads, soups, and some main courses, as well as nice variations and interpretations of classic cocktails. And what else is needed for one to relax? A nice place and atmosphere, some drinks, snacks and a good friend to enjoy all this slowly.
I look forward to going to Mañana bar when there are special cocktail-making classes organised or to go there on Friday night when there is a DJ music performance.
