Stargorod is a place for people who love to eat and drink beer (like me). This is one of the places in Latvia where you can try locally made beer which you can not buy in shops. They make several beers on the spot, most of them are according to Czech recipes, but there are some new ones - in collaboration with a Latvian brewer organization they now make beer from the old Latvian beer company Stricka's recipe. You must definitely try it! If you want to try all beers, but don't want to get drunk, order the tasting plate (3 or 5 0.2L beer cups).
If you are a convinced vegetarian you'd better stay away from this place in the evening. It can lead to a heart attack. Don't say I didn't warn you! Every evening they prepare an entire animal on the grill. The food is very delicious and most of it very rich in calories and the portions are big. Despite it being a Czech restaurant there are many Latvian dishes.
For those who love to sing, I have good news! Every Friday and Saturday you have the chance to do your thing and compete for a prize.
At lunch time a business lunch offer is available. Salads & soup € 2.30. Salad & meal or soup & meal € 4. Salads, soup & meal € 4.40. You can have a free drink or a 0.3L beer for € 1.
This is great place for sport fans too. Lot of TVs with sport games on.
