Glide isn't where you might typically find yourself on a Sunday morning. Glide is a historic San Francisco site. It's a non-denominational church so you won't even find any crosses up on the stage. The church was founded in 1960 in an aim to help those in need. Glide goes beyond Sunday services by offering programs such as LGBTQ discussion groups, support for abused women, group therapy for those with cancer, people struggling with addiction, and countless services for the homeless.
There's no better way to start your Sunday morning than at Glide. It wakes you up and makes you feel good. There's no other church on the planet that asks you to just be who you are when you come to Glide.
The best way to experience Glide is on a Sunday at one of their two services. I love walking into Glide and hearing the music playing, people chatting, and seeing lots of hugs being given. The service starts with a song and holding hands with the people next to you. No one is a stranger at Glide - everyone is one big family. There are some mentions of God throughout the service but no one is expected to partake in anything religious. The pews are always packed and it's better to get there early in order to get a good seat. People from all around the world come to Glide and I'm lucky to say I have been able to bring many foreigners with me there as well.
