I first heard about Saint Frank Coffee from a barista from another favorite coffee shop of mine, Home Coffee Roasters. One day I found myself walking Polk street, snapping pictures of local characters and just stumbled upon it. Inside, I was pulled into the modern aesthetic of the space - white walls and high ceilings. I felt like I was in an airy museum.
It seemed like a popular spot, as a lot of people were lined up to get that caffeine jolt in their systems. The locals in this neighborhood all look like models and wear workout clothes. Chris Hemsworths and Amy Adams doppelgängers, you know? I’m not going to lie, the baristas are handsome and very friendly and are super knowledgeable about the beans they use. They even treat you to a complimentary coffee if you buy a bag or two of their beans.
I’m not always in the Russian Hill neighborhood, but when I am, I make a point to stop in. The quality of the beans is noticeable. And the customer service is always consistently top-shelf! I always leave pleased with a few bags of coffee and an iced latte in hand. A pleasant treat, indeed.
I also recommend walking up Russian Hill a bit further to the George Sterling Park. From there you can enjoy glorious views of the Golden Gate Bridge on one side of the bay and other views of Coit Tower on the other side. A few extra steps never hurt anyone.
