Are you a music aficionado? Vinyl, CDs, videos, whatever... well, have I got the place for you!
These days most people have a music service so they don’t really buy music in CD or vinyl form. But if you’re a music buff, you like to hang out and listen to music - familiar or new, and you live in San Francisco, Amoeba Music is the place for you.
But it’s more than a music store. It’s an institution, part of bay area history, and part of the Haight/Ashbury. So when I go there, I usually pop in with a cup of coffee, head to one of my favorite sections, and spend an afternoon browsing. Who can resist that? No one bothers me, I have time to discover new music, revisit old music if I choose, and I can wander all I want. What could be better than that?
Afterwards, you can walk down the street and find one of the many restaurant offerings that pepper the Haight. Can’t go wrong with a plan like that.
