I may not be a surfer, but I’m attracted to the surfer culture. Back in college, I used to drive the Great Hwy that runs along Ocean Beach. (Side note: Anyone know the correct speed to drive the Great Hwy in order to avoid a red light?) I would see all the cute surfer boys changing in and out of their wetsuits out of the tailgates of their cars, and wonder how the heck they could get in those wetsuits so gracefully. The surfer element of the Sunset District is one to enjoy. You will always see surfers walking barefoot and disperse daily from the avenues and head towards the water. It’s like they're being pulled by a magnet.
In the Sunset Avenues, I’ve come to enjoy a particular surf shop. It’s called Mollusk Surf Shop. On a corner, you can enter a very chill and airy floor space. In the back is an awesome spiral staircase that leads to their sale section. Walking around the tables you’ll find fun, casual, surfer theme apparel. I love the graphics on their t-shirts, and it makes you just want to wear these threads the rest of your life. The style is so relaxed and comfortable. I also love the wooden boat next to the bright and sunny window. It looks like a movie prop that would absolutely be in a Wes Anderson film. Drop inside Mollusk Surf Shop and get amped on awesome surf apparel.
