The Louise M Davies Symphony Hall is a beautiful space of culture in San Francisco. It's nice to have a reason to dress up in a very casual city. When you're behind the glass looking out at Van Ness Avenue during intermission, you feel elegant. But there are lots of great casual options today too.
Under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas, affectionately known as MTT, the symphony has expertly brought the joy of classical music into the modern era. They've even won a Grammy.
Visiting orchestras from both US coasts, Los Angeles and New York, will perform here. Yo-Yo Ma is the featured artist for the opening night gala this Fall. Classics like Chopin and Dvořák are always on the schedule.
There's always something new and fresh and uniquely San Franciscan. The holidays are always special with winter themed concerts every week.. In the film series you can watch the original Mary Poppins with live accompaniment from the SF Symphony. Sounds amazing!
