In the heart of Madrona, there is a lovely little wine bar appropriately named Bottlehouse. Located in a historical home, this spot has a beautiful candlelit interior and a patio with outdoor string lights. It has an intimate feel.
I first went there on a date and then as a foursome. The menu features wine and it's great. Both times we got flights, usually locally sourced or from a particular region. They come labeled and we are advised in what order to drink them in. I often get a bowl of olives to accompany the drinks.
I can imagine Bottlehouse being exceptionally beautiful on a cold winter’s day.
One tip is that you can buy bottles for half the price they are listed for on the menu. So, if you find a wine in your flight that you particularly enjoy, purchase one for home.
There is a popular happy hour from 15:00 to 18:00.
Bottlehouse also serves as an event space. When we were there there was a pre-wedding celebration out back. Watching the well dressed guests walk up and down the patio steps was a fun way to people watch while sipping.
This is a great reason to explore Madrona.
